Sal Copas started his musical journey in the backyards of East Los Angeles playing in hardcore punk bands in the early 2000s. Working backwards, he progressed from punk to psychobilly, rockabilly and then naturally to country music – where he really learned to sing.
A business professional in Learning and Development, Sal holds a bachelor’s in history and master’s degree in education and has used his intellectual curiosity to research some of the greatest singers and songwriters in country music history. This has resulted in this musical project that aims to engage, soothe, amplify, entertain, and impact audiences across the country.
The music is a refreshing take on some of the most significant and prominent songs in the history of country music along with some vintage pop standards and classic mariachi songs. Sal’s voice brings the operatic dynamics of a tenor to the country music scene and his phrasing pairs perfectly with the sliding twang of the slide-pedal guitar.
Sal has experience performing across Southern California with previous bands and has performed on local morning television, the Morongo Casino and at various Rockabilly festivals.
Sal can perform solo or with his backing band The Revivals and can add on a presentation to talk through the artists' history, song recording, and lyrical analysis along with or embedded into the performance.
