Sal Copas

Sal Copas began his musical journey in the backyards of East Los Angeles, playing in hardcore punk bands in the early 2000s. His sound evolved from punk to psychobilly, rockabilly, and eventually into the timeless sounds of American roots music.

A Learning & Development professional with degrees in history and education, Sal has spent time studying the great singers and songwriters of American music, shaping a musical project built to entertain and connect with audiences.

His music offers a fresh take on country classics, rockabilly, vintage pop standards, and classic Spanish songs. Sal’s powerful tenor voice brings operatic depth to the music.

Sal’s repertoire spans generations and traditions, from honky-tonk originals and classic country to Spanish canciones, vintage pop, and Americana. When not performing his country repertoire across Southern California, Sal fronts the punk project Sal Copas & the Reckless Kind.
